Gantt View

Gantt View charts every scheduled task on a timeline, draws arrows for dependencies, and lets you drag a bar to move its start and due dates together.

Gantt View showing task bars on a timeline with dependency arrows between blocked tasks.

Gantt View: dependency arrows, draggable bars and a zoomable Day/Week/Month scale.

What it does

Gantt View charts every task that has a start or due date on a horizontal timeline, one bar per task. Arrows connect tasks that depend on each other, and dragging a bar moves its dates. Zoom out from a day-by-day view to weeks or months to fit a longer schedule on screen.

Who needs it

Anyone sequencing work rather than just tracking it — a rollout with a fixed order of steps, a build with real dependencies, or any project where one thing genuinely can't start before another finishes. It's built for planning and scheduling conversations, not day-to-day task checking.

Why use it

A dependency that's a small icon in a list becomes an arrow you can actually trace here. Dragging a bar to shift a date is faster, and harder to get wrong, than editing start and due date fields separately on every task it affects.

How it works

Gantt is one of six interchangeable lenses on the same tasks — every bar here is a task you'd see as a row in List or a card in Board; only tasks with a start date, a due date, or both are plotted, since a bar needs at least one end to anchor to.

Bars: a task with both a start and due date draws a bar spanning them. A task with only a due date (or only a start date) draws as a one-day bar on that single date rather than stretching back to whenever it was created. A bar fills to show progress — 100% once the task's status is a Done-category status, 0% otherwise.

Zoom: the Day / Week / Month buttons above the chart change how much time each column represents — Day for a close-in view of a short list, Week or Month to fit a schedule spanning months onto one screen without endless horizontal scrolling.

Dependencies: a "Blocked by" or "Blocking" relationship between two tasks draws as an arrow from predecessor to successor, as long as both tasks are on the chart (each needs a date to appear). A plain "Linked" relationship is not schedule-related and doesn't draw an arrow.

Drag a bar sideways to reschedule the task — both its start and due date shift together, keeping the same duration. Drag either end of a bar to change just that end and adjust the task's duration.

Milestones: click the Milestones button above any view (not just Gantt) to open a list of named target dates for this list — a beta launch, a client deadline — independent of any single task. Add a name and a due date; overdue milestones are highlighted in red. Milestones are a dated checklist for the list, not markers drawn on the chart itself.
