Activity View

Activity keeps an automatic, timestamped record of every change on a task — created, renamed, status, priority, assignment — so you know who did what, when.

A task's Activity panel listing a chronological feed of status changes, assignments and a rename, each with actor and timestamp.

Activity: an automatic, timestamped history on every task.

What it does

Activity is the automatic, timestamped record of everything that's happened to a task — created, renamed, status changed, priority changed, assigned or unassigned. It's kept without anyone having to log it by hand. It lives in the task's own detail panel, not as a separate page you switch to.

Who needs it

Anyone who's ever asked "wait, who changed this?" A lead reviewing what moved on a task since yesterday, or anyone picking a task back up and wanting the history before touching it.

Why use it

Every other view changes how you see what's open right now. Activity answers a different question — what already happened — generated automatically from real changes, so there's nothing to remember to write down.

How it works

Where List, Board, Calendar, Gantt, Table and Workload are six switchable lenses on a list's open tasks, Activity works at the level of one task rather than the whole list — open any task and its Activity panel, on the right side of the detail view, is the running log for that task alone.

Every entry records who did it, what happened, and when, in your own time zone. Entries are generated automatically the moment a change happens:

  • Created — the task was added.
  • Renamed — the task's name changed, with the new name shown.
  • Status changed — the task moved from one status to another.
  • Priority changed — the priority was set, with the new value shown.
  • Assigned / Unassigned — a person was added to or removed from the task, named directly in the entry.

There's nothing to configure and nothing to write by hand — Activity is a byproduct of using the task normally, not a separate log you maintain.
